HANDBALL RESEARCH GROUP

The Handball Research Group is a research group operating within the Musculoskeletal & Sports Injury Epidemiology Center, at Sophiahemmet University College in Stockholm. The research group is multidisciplinary and consists of, among others, naprapaths, physiotherapists, orthopedists, epidemiologists, statisticians, and nutritionists. The focus is on field-oriented research concerning prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of handball injuries, with an additional emphasis on knee and shoulder injuries. The research primarily comprises large observational studies and clinical trials. Among other things, we evaluate the injury-reducing effects of training programs such as Knee Control and Shoulder Control on young elite handball players. Learn more about our projects here
